I have recently been working on a project at the working kitchen gardens in Barrington Court, Somerset. A beautiful National Trust walled kitchen garden inspired by Gertrude Jekyll in the surrounds of an historic tudor house. In the calm air of the garden, created by the surrounding mellow brick walls, all types of fruit, vegetables and flowers thrive - and as a keen vegetable grower myself it is always good to see how the professionals do it.
At any time of year this would be a lovely place to visit, but late August is especially rewarding. This is a small selection of the images.
